On May 17, 2011, CoopMego was visited by 110 students and several teachers of Loja’s “Alonso de Mercadillo” school. They came to the cooperative to understand the process of depositing and withdrawing money.
Officials of the cooperative gave the students a talk on saving and on financial products and services.
Monica Silva, a seventh-grade student, said, “They received us very well. I am very happy with the visit, because now we see how important it is to save in order to buy things.”
Yendri Navas said, “The visit was a very nice and interesting, because we saw the facilities of the cooperative.”
Wilfredo Paredes, a teacher who shared in the practices, said that in addition to teaching students the benefits of saving, these visits help children gain a better understanding of the financial system.
This is one more initiative of CoopMego in its commitment to society.

CoopMego has signed a publicity sponsorship agreement with the Liga Deportiva Universitaria (LDU) of Loja for the 2011 season.
Galo Escudero, the LDU President, thanked us for our support and said that this contribution will fund the team for this season. In addition, the CoopMego General Manager Geovanny Bustos said, “We are one of Ecuador’s largest cooperatives due to the loyalty of our partners and clients. There is no better way to thank them for their trust than by supporting Loja’s sports. That is why our entity’s Board of Directors decided to sponsor the Liga Deportiva Universitaria.”
We invite our partners and clients to support the soccer team of Ecuador’s Southern region and Loja’s own cooperative.
